Create an Ink & Watercolor Travel Journal
Anya Toomre

Mondays 6:00-8:30pm
September 10 – October 15

or

Wednesdays 10:00-12:30
September 5 – October 10

$175

If you’ve ever traveled and spent your time away experiencing and exploring, chances are you took pictures to capture memories of your trip. Travel journaling takes it one step further and allows you to choose significant moments of the trip to draw and annotate and create a personal visual memory for you and others to enjoy. The process of creating is a big plus too!

Maybe you brought a sketchbook with you on your trip and got some sketches done, or not. A travel journal can be worked on before, during, and after any trip. A page or two can be enough to mark the event, or a whole sketchbook can be devoted to the topic.

This 6-week workshop will take you through some of the ways to start your travel journaling and record those memories. You should have photos from a trip you’ve taken that you’d like to work from to add to your travel journal. This workshop will allow you to learn about ink and watercolor and drawing techniques, materials, ideas and strategies to travel journaling and will give plenty of time to work on your journal.

All skill levels welcome.

Ink, Watercolor & Color Pencil Workshop
Eileen Sorg

Saturday & Sunday 10:00am - 4:30pm
October 13 & 14, 2018

$250

Eileen Sorg is offering a pen and ink, watercolor, and colored pencil workshop at Cloud 9! If you are not familiar with Eileen's fantastic work, take a minute to check out her website at: http://www.twodogstudio.com.

Her style is very realistic but her process of drawing first, then inking, then watercolors, then color pencils is a very forgiving process. I was amazed at how quickly pieces start to look really good. And it’s fun!

Her work looks incredibly detailed and difficult but her step by step, mixed media approach allows for an easy to follow quick build up of color and value while still leaving room for the beautiful detail and control of colored pencil. Eileen walks us through it in manageable and fun steps. You will learn watercolor and colored pencil application tips, and how to extract the best qualities of each medium in this fun and informative workshop.
