My first formal painting instruction began in South Carolina in 1985. Since then I have lived and studied in many places from Moscow, Russia to Suva, Fiji. Fun fact: I was the first Westerner to study art at the Central Museum of Kazakhstan in 1995. I have also studied art at Florida Atlantic University and The Gage in Seattle. I have also had the opportunity to be mentored by some exceptional master painters. Most recently by Liana Bennet and Mike Wise. I paint in both acrylics and oils in an impressionistic and abstract style. As a painter I am first drawn to color and then to how to paint both the illusion and temperature of light.
My work is available at Gallery North and the Cascadia Art Museum in Edmonds or on my web site at email@example.com.
Like many artist who have come before me it was a teacher who encouraged and built my confidence to be creative. It doesn’t have to take a lifetime to learn to paint but once you learn I hope your love of painting will last your lifetime.
