Printmaking at Cloud 9!

We recently offered a printmaking class for beginners for adults. It was taught by Emily Brown as a 4-hour session last weekend. And it was a hit! We’ve offered printmaking for kids last summer and again during our current winter break camps. Inspired but what we saw, we asked Emily to offer a workshop for adults.

All the participants were new to printmaking and all asked for more and Emily has agreed!

Printmaking forces artists to focus on basic principles of art and design, approaching their projects with considerations about composition, negative space, and working with a limited color selection.

Come join us for the March workshop with Emily. You’ll have a blast and go home with plenty of prints!

Sunday 10:00am - 4:00pm
March 3

In this all day workshop you will be introduced to the basics of block printing. We will start the day with a step by step process where we will all be working on the same provided image. By lunchtime we will all have carved and printed out first print. We will have a one hour lunch. You can bring your lunch and stay at Cloud 9 or you can go to one of the many nearby restaurants.

After lunch we’ll come together to discuss and choose what kind of greeting card design to work on.

Emily will supply inspirational photos but feel free to bring your own. This class is meant for the absolute beginner but everyone is welcome.

To use class carving tools, inks, brayers, and inking plates you will also need to purchase “Printmaking Supplies” on Emily’s website for $30.

Alternatively, you can purchase this kit on Amazon to have your own tools at your disposal. This is a great option if you think you’ll want to continue at home. The kit is available here:
