This session of My Secret Garden features some of the amazing bird spectacles we are so fortunate to be able to witness. Frenzies of wings and feathers against a mountain backdrop are a phenomenal sight. Recording them in your sketchbook in creative ways is the focus of this workshop.

You will learn ways to practice sketching snow geese and swan, you will practice painting birds in flight and then create a spread featuring a landscape with distant birds in watercolor.

As a bonus, you will learn to use Duralar (or other matte film such as velum) as a surface and how to use it in a sketchbook by creating layers which can be added over your landscape. You'll see how easy it is to use colored pencils on Duralar two-sided Matte finish.

This class will provide you with instructions that are guaranteed to unleash your own creativity and imagination. You will learn about the materials and tools you need to get started added layers and to any sketchbook spread as well as become more confident about painting birds in flight.

Online using Zoom. Video tutorials available to students for one year.
